In the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), the Bullywug race was created as amphibian soldiers, deployed to dominate wetlands, rivers, and other freshwater environments. They were regarded as one of the weaker and more unpredictable elements of the primordials' armies. Many Bullywug unit leaders viewed them as untrustworthy, occasionally unreliable, and at least 10% indifferent to the deaths of their comrades. These characteristics deteriorated, such that by the conclusion of the Creation War, the majority had succumbed to evil.
In certain regions of the domain, bullywugs will assume the part of paying tribute to the slaadi or perhaps even a nearby dragon. Sociologists who have studied these communities assert that they engage in this behavior solely out of their own self-serving interests and would eliminate that which they once venerated if given the opportunity.
Bullywugs, widely used by the primordials, are scattered across many worlds. During the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), they pursued their own agendas, aligning with the belligerents when necessary or when it proved advantageous.
Bullywug are constrained in their mobility and environments. They necessitate submerging themselves in water once daily to prevent dehydration. In extreme circumstances, they have been documented to burrow underground, entering a state of hibernation. This dormancy can persist for months or even centuries, concluding only when a suitable habitat emerges. When the Nermanis Sea receded and ultimately vanished, several thousand of Throa Sveid's bullywug lapsed into this profound slumber.
Bullywugs are scattered throughout Bal-Kriav, with the majority situated either where they were abandoned following the Creation War or several hundred miles distant along the course of some waterway.
