In the waning years of the Creation War, this marshy delta became the home for several hundred Bullywug. These were the progeny of marine units that had once served under Thjorygg. When Thjorygg shifted focus to more strategically vital sectors, he left a garrison to oversee Thor Har's shipyards. Forgotten or deemed insignificant by the primordials, these former soldiers abandoned the inhospitable area. They ventured westward along the coasts to the muggy, insect-ridden wetlands of Saeming.
In the Demon Spawn War, the bullywugs of Saeming fought alongside the demons around Mizzen when it advantaged them to do so. However, when the demons' fortunes waned, the bullywugs swiftly shifted their allegiance, joining the Covenant in accordance with the ancient principle that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'.
Since the founding of Selûn, Elderaunts have been constructing outposts, lighthouses, and fortresses in this region to safeguard the mouth of the Knaevan River, protecting river-borne commerce and expeditions into the interior. They worked to thwart bullywug attacks on shipping and prevent the area from becoming a haven for pirates. When the Waterhaven Channel was opened, it dramatically increased the water flow down the Knaevan River. A few years later, Saeming had doubled in size. Consequently, many of the area's trade stations, lighthouses, and policing structures were submerged and eroded, leading to their abandonment due to the region's frequent flooding, rendering them of little strategic value.
