The liberated Graagvrii founded Estathess in 740 LE, having escaped from the Lith-Crillion research center in Khimilêth with the aid of a rogue Lith-Crillion named Gimir-Zarun. Prior to their emancipation, they had endured the scorching Sands of Hell and toiled as "enlightened" servants of the Knudmid and Lith-Crillion masters. The Graagvrii of Estathess originally hailed from the wetland region of Kagarr, located across the continent in the High Wood Country.
The city's Bullywug inhabitants originally hailed from Orondir. They arrived here through migration or as captives. This practice of enslavement did not commence until the Demacian people came to influence the city. It was prohibited during the reign of Gimir-Zarun, who perceived the Lith-Crillion's notion of "enlightening" others as merely another form of subjugation and servitude.
Estathess is a culturally sophisticated civilization comparable to the Orchish Empire. They maintain institutions such as schools, libraries, and other public facilities dedicated to the progress of their society. These origins trace back to Gimir-Zarun and the eldritch giants of Belêth-Kazîr. It was common for individuals to journey to Belêth-Kazîr seeking arcane education, yet lack the means to afford tuition. In such cases, they were offered employment as teachers, advisors, and in other roles within Estathess to finance their studies.
