Haag-Bre is an age-old citadel constructed within the cliffs of Nalbirag. Perched atop the Rumak lake to the west, it was erected by the Ku'tiro, a prosperous merchant family hailing from Nemebhox. The fortress safeguarded the gold mines of western Nalbirag and functioned as a trading outpost for the restless local populace.
In the Horgon Era, along the River Jhernarth, impressive caves were constructed by the naval forces of Nemebhox. Emanating from this harbor region, elevators, ramps, stairs, and anti-gravity shafts facilitate access to the citadel's higher precincts.
Situated in a strategic location, near numerous gold mines, Haag-Bre has changed ownership numerous times throughout history. In 1318, the second year of the Nalbirag Gold War (1317 - 1324), the wizard Râlê captured the settlement. Like many before him who have attacked Haag-Bre, he was driven by the lure of the region's abundant gold deposits.
