The Ogre Steps are a series of mesas situated northwest of the Gwaeldior Forest. They bear this name owing to the numerous Toomrur tribes that settled here during the Horgon Era. Between the years 1600 HG and 1700 HG, these tribes migrated westward from Hiznaar Goz, claiming lands far removed from any civilization. The Toomrur came to govern the local hill giants, cave trolls, and goblins. Their camps and strongholds are scattered across the area's imposing mesas, with some housing populations akin to small towns, their interiors honeycombed with structures.
The inhabitants of the Ogre Steps have long waged war against the firbolg of Hengorek. The sole exception was when a charismatic leader named Naggor Stormhand united them in formidable raiding parties. He led these warbands against the strongholds of Strumpktar, Celebriän, and others. However, when Naggor departed for the Lands of Purity, the conflict between the Firbolg and Toomrur resumed.
The goblins of this region often inhabit expansive colonies. They harvest the honey as both a food source and an exported commodity. It is not unusual to observe goblins gliding across the blossoming steppes, mounted atop massive bumblebees.
