Strumpktar was established by a mining clan originating from the Kingdom of Gimhak (1306 HE - 1479). They ventured to this region due to its electrum deposits, which at the time represented the sole source of this metal within a vast radius. Primarily employed in the minting of coins, the mining of electrum was regarded as a prestige endeavor by the crown.

Built upon Gathol's loftiest hill, three centuries subsequent to its establishment, Strumpktar expanded beyond mining, transforming into a trading nexus and secure region for caravans traversing the Sorrow Road.

Strumpktar was situated five hundred miles from Gimhak's northern territory, beyond the surface lands owned by others, in the most lawless and untamed areas. To maintain communication with the heart of the empire, a subterranean route was established. It was so secure that during the First Epoch, it evolved into a significant trade route, crossing two dark seas: first the Green Nebulous, past Hagurthand, and then traversing the Cthorgo Sea, followed by a journey up the fiery river of Skera Hrolmir to the grand lifts of Izanargam, Gimhak's capital city.

In the year 1473 of the tumultuous Gimhak War (spanning from 1470 to 1479), the city of Strumpktar succumbed to the devastating forces of the Eye-Skull Pact.

Today, as per the terms of the Treaty of Gathol, the ruins of Strumpktar lie within a demilitarized zone, precluding any permanent habitation. Nevertheless, the area has become a refuge for outlaws and creatures of malign intent.
