Rumak-Khâl is an icy vale situated east of the region of Khalas. The two areas are divided by the steamy marshes of Dalan-Dûl. The eastern portion of Khalas and the western segment of Rumak-Khâl have been the domain of the Goliath tribes for generations. These clans perpetually engage in warfare with one another, with the Brisingr Empire, or with the giants and Azwyr Amoruk.
Rumak-Khâl is frequently cloaked in a veil of smoke and fog. Both serve as a byproduct of the region's volcano erupting at regular intervals. This towering peak was christened Bjalprek, named after a renowned goliath chieftain who conquered Bazud-Ganal.
