In the Faeglor Front (228 GE - 261 GE), Siolix was a mining region controlled by the demon lord Zuggtmoy. The area, toxic to many creatures including demons, occasionally mutated beings into uncontrollable, violent monstrosities. Zuggtmoy's mining production overseer was to discover that the region's deep rock was the root of the issue.

The mines of Siolix harbored an illness that defied even the expertise of accomplished healers. The fortunate individuals who endured the ordeal emerged transformed, while the less fortunate became sustenance for her verdant slimes, ebony puddings, and ashen oozes.

Borri, in his work History of Me, recounts the story of "The Mines of Siolix"

Partly due to their fortitude and the benevolence of Geb, earth giants possessed the highest survival rates within the mines. Those who managed to endure the ordeal emerged transformed, giving rise to a novel giant sub-race known as the Fomorian.

After the Demon Spawn War, Geb had Siolix sealed behind massive quartz fortresses garrisoned by enormous earth elementals and other Earthen loyal to Geb. The solid rock surrounding Siolix is meticulously patrolled by teams of earth elementals and maintained secure by an expansive network of tremor-sense alarms. An additional defense of Siolix is a channel of the Earth Seam, a moat intended to prevent the slimy denizens of Siolix from escaping.

Siolix serves as a sanctuary for puddings, slimes, and oozes. During periods of scarcity, which are the typical state of affairs, a ruthless cycle of preying upon one another ensues. Conversely, in times of abundance, overpopulation compels hundreds to flee, with some managing to traverse past Geb's warden citadels.
