Built during the First Epoch, Thular-Tûr was a colossal fortress belonging to the Burterinii Monarchy. It guarded the kingdom's southern border with the First Khazarkar Empire. In the Conclave War (995 - 999), the Eldritch Conclave provoked the Khazarkar Empire to wage war against the Burterinii. The Siege of Thular-Tûr was the war's initial major engagement. Lasting over a year, the arduous siege exposed the nascent Khazarkar magocracy's fragility. Eager to demonstrate their prowess, the Conclave summoned their web weavers. Their reckless disregard for the Web of Magic triggered a magical maelstrom that reduced Thular-Tûr to ruins.
It was 996, the third crossing of Urok-Leptyr. A fierce storm was rolling in from the coast, unlike any witnessed before - a maelstrom of magical lightning, twisters, and a radiant spectrum of colors. It tore through the landscape, leaving behind lightning storms, plumes of fire, and in some places, levitating rocks and other debris. These were all the result of powerful magic, not natural phenomena. The storm decimated an infantry brigade of magic-warded troops like a relentless reaper. The few survivors were no longer recognizable as Khazarkar or even human, some twisted into aberrant forms, while others were polymorphed, changed, or perhaps transformed into dire beasts and monsters. The storm demolished the enemy stronghold of Thular-Tûr. For many years after, the ruins were plagued by horse-like monstrosities with long trunks that could disenchant even the greatest magic with a mere touch and were impervious to most spells. As Khâls Forge rose, we marched northeast towards Ing-Serold. Looking back, the split in the Web was clearly visible a mile out to sea. They say the magical storms continued to spill from it long after we were forced to leave this continent.
