When the Hydrocur arrived in northern Izagunbar, they possessed limited knowledge of land construction. While they had access to instructional books, they lacked practical expertise in the field. This deficiency stemmed from their primary role as enforcers, serving the Durkoth by constructing dwellings for their lesser minions within the province. However, during the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE), their masters vanished, and the lesser minions rebelled on Necrocrypt. Consequently, the Hydrocur sought local assistance in building Tua'kee. They enlisted the help of laborers from Steirek, predominantly stone and storm giants, resulting in the construction of grand, airy buildings.
Tua'kee was constructed as a port for transporting prisoners between the surface and the underwater metropolis of Bue'kaa. Once the surface facilities were completed, Steirek's laborers, who were provided an abundance of fish and crustaceans and compensated with pearls and other precious stones, worked to link Tua'kee with Bue'kaa. They carved chambers and passages beneath the city, some water-filled and others airy. Tubes, pipes, and passages extended deep underground, with the final section running beneath the seafloor all the way to Bue'kaa. This was a monumental endeavor, aided by the use of potent magic spells such as disintegrate and rock to mud.
For centuries, prisoners destined for Bue'kaa have vanished into Tua'kee's passages, with most never to be seen again. When the Elderaunts broke free of the Hydrocur, they abandoned these sites of their race's origins. Today, this place lies in ruin. Most access points to the underground passages are sealed off or flooded. Occasionally, pirates, sahuagin, and other adversaries occupy this desolate site. When they pose a threat to the heavy shipping transiting to and from Ginnoth, Ivory Asylum maritime forces are dispatched to cleanse the area.
