The Sand Spitter is a permanent one-way rift connecting two distant realms - one belonging to the Mortal Systems, the other an Elemental Ring World. The entry portal resides within the heart of an immense desert on the Earthen homeworld of Granitoid. However, its location is ever-shifting, moving in tandem with Granitoid's ceaseless sandstorms. In contrast, the rift's exit point is more predictable, manifesting as a colossal sand pit spanning fifty miles across - a scale befitting an ant lion of primordial proportions. Periodically, this opening expels great clouds of vibrant yellow sand, a commodity on the world of Bal-Kriav, where it is shipped off and utilized in construction projects and the adornment of the wealthy's gardens.

The continuous outflow of sand from the Sand Spitter has led to the formation of a substantial desert surrounding it. The light-colored sands of Ungarmuk are persistently swept about by the winds descending the Ugradrath mountains. During periods of strong gusts, this region experiences sandstorms rivaling the most severe ones in the Sands of Hell.

Not entirely proven, Nevicanad is held accountable for this divide. News outlets across the Orchish Empire, all state-controlled, claim this weathered old arch-mage engineered the rift in retaliation for an attempt on his life. The reports further allege that Valangrim's military governor coveted the mage's airborne prison, the Thunder Halls.
