On the isle of Angvild, the primordial city of Frilksif was constructed during the Creation War, spanning from 1486 DE to 8777 DE. Today, it stands as a breathtakingly beautiful city, buoyed by the Last Hand of Talos. The city's origins trace back to a mere workers' settlement, tasked with carving away a portion of the surrounding island for archons and giants. Under the supervision of Talos, Geb, and other deities, the excavation project evolved into a bureaucratic quagmire, as labor resources were diverted to address more pressing concerns.
In 8776 DE, with the Covenant victorious on all fronts, the isle of Angvild was finally severed. The detached section, known as the Last Hand of Talos or Krarkauk among scholars, was cast adrift by Talos. The settlement of Frilksif, a nearly two-century-old town of 12,000 located at the heart of Krarkauk, floated on the winds for seven centuries. During this time, it transformed from the center of an empire to a ruin of only a few hundred inhabitants. Around 400 LE, the area experienced a resurgence as newcomers resettled Krarkauk's verdant landscape and rebuilt the abandoned parts of Frilksif.
In 712 LE, for reasons still unknown, the isle of Krarkauk came to a halt in the Ice Cap region. Situated in a frigid part of the world, crops failed and the population dwindled. Over the following century, an influx of natives and local fauna initiated a recovery. As trade with the lands below expanded, extensive bridges were added to the slopes of Netheram, accompanied by the construction of more lifts. Many of these lifts, equipped with sturdy platforms and great cables, can transport the weight of ten giants, descending through the city to other lifts and security checkpoints, traversing the isle of Krarkauk before emerging into open air. The final leg of the journey involves a descent of a thousand feet or more into the gloomy underside of Krarkauk, the Vale of Gunmar.
In 388 HE, captivated by Krarkauk's formidable military prowess and Frilksif's prosperous economy, laws, and business infrastructure, the region was peacefully incorporated, becoming a vassal state of Aslauthroa (9 HE - 1891 HE).
