Today better known as Incubus, this hold was established in 331 LE by a Lith-Crillion research unit led by Sâlo Tânê 11. They named it Aphenôrî after an alpine flower near Urkalzîr. Like other settlements founded by Sâlo Tânê, it was intended to serve as a research center for studying sources of magic at locations such as Achamâz, Radullu, and Yagolorn.

Built upon the isle of Hraenar, the city of Aphenôrî is accessible via a mile-long bridge, predominantly composed of earth motes. Unimpeded by supports, the bridge's elevation fluctuates between one hundred and three hundred feet above the waters below, punctuated by thirteen gaps spanned by towers and drawbridges.

The initial construction of the city was undertaken by Lith-Crillion and several hundred Knudmid. Over the course of half a millennium, on the shores of Lake Hraenar, a city of remarkable grandeur and epic proportions emerged, where dragons could freely soar through the largest structures and stone giants could traverse the doorways without obstruction.

In the year 1002 of the Lith-Crillion Era, the city of Aphenôrî was sacked by an army of hill and stone giants. The Lith-Crillion managed to salvage what they could, securing additional literature and relics within the Vaults of Aphenôrî. After enslaving the population, the victorious giants executed the Lith-Crillion prisoners, particularly those they greatly feared for their arcane abilities. The city was then abandoned, left in ruins until it was reoccupied during the First Epoch with the arrival of the Theegan people.

In the 43rd year, the Ak'mrîtun Empire experienced a sharp deterioration. A significant portion of its Theegan population migrated southward and towards the southwest. In the 52nd year, under the leadership of the witch Abarrûnal, the Theegan claimed the ruins, which they subsequently named Incubus after Abarrûnal's father.

Incubus serves as the capital of the Witch Horde. At the central entrance to the city, a pair of awe-inspiring, godforged colossi stand guard. These majestic constructs have miraculously awakened on a dozen occasions, aiding in the cessation of a brutal Angrod siege, repelling storm giant raiders assaulting the city from the backs of blue dragons, and eradicating the lake kraken that had long plagued Incubus.
