When the mighty city of Glangveif fell, a group of frost giants managed to escape, fleeing to the icy island known as Isgofnel. There, they established a small settlement, christening it Otraki Gaum, which translates to Last Stand. Owing to their remote location and modest numbers, the victorious Hofthorm chose not to pursue them. The frost giants sustained themselves through fishing and thrived by raiding the surrounding coastlines.

When the frost giants initially arrived in Isgofnel, they sustained themselves primarily through predation on others. They raided the coastlines of Hrafgrir and beyond when their pickings were scarce. The presence of Otraki Gaum and its barbarian marauders is the reason that the coastal settlements of Seven Vales are so heavily fortified.

Otraki Gaum has evolved over time to encompass more than simply a dwelling for frost giants. It now boasts a diverse population earning their livelihood through trade, fishing, and piracy.
