| Period | 1361 LE - 1366 LE |
The Second Dragon Wake was precipitated by the frost giants of Sotiisk'lum. They breached the sanctity of the great rift Viing'deyvut, casting nets and fashioning equipment to ensnare dragons as they journeyed towards the vast caverns of Viing Lok.
After the hunter's initial triumphs, capturing a young white dragon and an adult blue dragon, the regional wards were activated. These were ancient dragon wards established during the God Era to prevent demons from carrying out the actions now undertaken by the giants. The wards triggered a Dragon Wake Ritual. A resonant hum steadily intensified over the course of seven days. Upon reaching a particular frequency, it served as a biological trigger for the dragons, rousing them from any state of repose and inducing a feral, often incensed response.
The seven-day countdown is Bahamut's Mercy, granting the land time to prepare for the impending judgment.

For five protracted years, the dragons spanning the realm of Bal-Kriav vented their aggression upon anything of lesser stature. The frost giants of Sotiisk'lum, the instigators of this tumult, were nearly annihilated. It would be ages before they mustered the populace to pose a threat to their neighbors once more.
