The Paradomea Consortium is an agency representing the preeminent merchant enterprises of Paradomea. They establish the range of prices, manage supply matters, and possess jurisdiction over trade. While they may resemble a monopoly, Paradomea's competitive pricing demonstrates otherwise. Foreign companies are often the ones that endure the burden imposed by the Paradomea Consortium. These companies frequently struggle to compete against the scale of operations within Paradomea.
History
In the final years (1255 - 1266) of the Kal-Oni Empire, nine merchant houses dominated the commerce of the once-bustling fishing port known as Paradomea.
The leaders became known as the Merchant League, and in subsequent years would constitute the Council of Nine. After solidifying their authority, this Council of Nine founded the Paradomea Consortium. As the city expanded and its populace grew, the members of the Paradomea Consortium escalated in number and influence. With time, they emerged as the third echelon of power in Paradomea, occasionally contesting the oversight of the Council of Nine.
