This organization was established during the First Epoch by a Dromite named Purl. She commanded a pirate vessel until her mid-30s, then expanded into additional illicit ventures. Purl absorbed other groups through a combination of coercion, cunning, and force when required. To those who joined her, she provided safeguarding and a collective defense for the pirates and other criminal operations active in the Buccaneer Archipelago. Additionally, she implemented a hierarchical structure and profit-sharing model, often making it more lucrative for members to remain under her leadership than to operate independently.
Today, the Purl Lattice is a formidable criminal syndicate comprising illicit gangs, guilds, and enterprises. Their activities encompass a wide range of unlawful pursuits, including black market operations, kidnapping and ransom, burglary, and even murder. The syndicate maintains a presence in nearly all the port cities of the Triangle of Continents. During the conflicts of the past three epochs, the Purl Lattice has steadfastly remained neutral, enabling them to amass substantial wealth without incurring the enmity of the major powers of Midrêth.
The current overseer of Purl Lattice is an intellect devourer known as Brainus. This fearsome creature is served by a multitude of criminal chieftains scattered across the Buccaneer Archipelago and the port settlements of Brucrumus, Karterus, and Straiden.
