Two decades after the formation of Sphere 411, better known today as Bal-Kriav, a Creationist named Bruh Kreniik sowed the world with his kind. A youthful green dragon called Hurguulich was placed in a region now recognized as the Aerie of Dragons. Hurguulich was among many other young dragons of diverse hues, seeding the world with novel species and fortifying it for the impending arrival of the primordials.
Exceptionally intelligent and cunning, Hurguulich became one of the mightiest green dragons of the Dawn Era. For a period during the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), she led all the dragons of the Aerie. For a millennium, she held both primordials and Covenant forces at bay, guarding the dragon lands.
Hurguulich faced her great adversary with the arrival of the Halatrax in 2515 DE. A floating laboratory of a primordial known as Maen Grirngrim, it ferried an army of chaos archons up the fjords of Hurg's Scar, a favored fishing area for dragons then and today. Though attacked numerous times, the primordial invaders suffered even greater losses, as their every attempt to wound and capture their attackers proved futile. In the rugged highlands of Laat Viing, a growing primordial base, certain construction sites and camps served as lures for the dragons. The Halatrax continued its travels up and down the channel, collecting the captured dragons and bringing in more supplies and minions.
On the 15th of Temporal in the year 2520 DE, Hurguulich, convinced by Rilthang, agreed to meet with Maen. Underestimating the resources of her opponent, Hurguulich was swiftly grounded, overwhelmed by sheer numbers, and gassed with primordial essence. Amidst the hundreds dying around her, with scales peeling away from the gas, Hurguulich was bound in a cage of dragon ribs and subjected to the same experiments that had claimed the lives of dozens of other dragons. Hurguulich endured the ordeal and emerged in a new form, becoming the first dracolich.
Under the command of Maen Grirngrim, Hurguulich proved exceedingly challenging to control. Her formidable power and keen intellect rendered her a perpetual issue for him and his subordinates; untoward "incidents" frequently occurred in Hurguulich's presence.
When the Golden Seven engaged Maen Grirngrim in battle, they faced a primordial with only the remnants of his army. A day before the attack, and perhaps because of it, Hurguulich had scattered Maen Grirngrim's forces over a fifty-mile stretch with her antics. She left a trail of corpses beneath clouds of toxic gas. More than just the breath of a legendary green dragon, it was imbued with negative energy, reanimating the recently fallen under Hurguulich's control.
Hurguulich vanished following the demise of Maen Grirngrim.
