The ancient tome known as the Book of Orinite was penned during the Dawn Era by a primordial being referred to as the Prime Architect. How this text came to rest on Osâchar and fall into the hands of the Old Ones remains a mystery. The Old Ones utilized the book to construct their most impressive monuments and structures, employing legions of golems that Durkoth spies claimed operated with minimal guidance. The awe-inspiring holdings of the Old Ones incited the envy of the Durkoth, leading to the subsequent wars between the two peoples.

Early in the Horgon Era, the Book of Orinite was plundered from a submerged city of the Old Ones. It remained in the possession of the Nemerion family for centuries before it could be properly deciphered. This was because it was not written in the language of the Old Ones but rather in a primordial cipher designed by the book's author. The book was not put to use until well after the Durkoth departure from Osâchar.

On Bal-Kriav, during the Durkoth Descent ( 995 HE - 1355 HE ) , Rereth Nemerion absconded with the book and retreated to the fetid wetlands of Ilorath. There, he utilized the book to conjure true golems and the realm's initial half-golems. The golems created from the Book of Orinite were employed to safeguard Rereth from vengeful spirits (a byproduct of his half-golem experiments) and construct the sixteen rings of fortifications that compose the ruin Urgalroth.

When the night hag Thryunkian took control of Urgalroth, the Book of Orinite was discovered in the squalid den of a troll. The troll relinquished the book after being beaten into submission and then proceeded to dutifully serve his new mistress. Thryunkian, however, never utilized the book, as she lacked the knowledge to decipher its cipher. During a war with the Orchish Empire, her treasury dwindled, prompting her to dispatch agents to locate buyers for the book. The book was sold through a third party and ultimately found its way into the libraries of the Magis Institute, selling for an undisclosed sum, yet one sufficient to broker peace with the Orchish Empire.

The quantity of golems safeguarding Magis Institute and those that engaged in combat at Golem Pass are unquestionably derived from the book's utilization by the individuals at Magis Institute.
