This ornate, purple tome features bronze hinges and a supple minotaur-hide binding. The initial volume was authored by the renowned Khazarkar necromancer, Har-Thal "The Sadist." Its pages contain numerous necromantic teachings and nine spells for each level of the arcane arts. The text derives its title from the detailed instructions for constructing fearsome high drik war machines.
During the First Khazarkar Empire, when they were on Gulimbor, the Khazarkar military captured driks from the Hive region. They utilized this book, and copies of it, to alter the growth process of driks. This resulted in the creation of specially bred monsters, called high driks. They employed nearly a hundred of these in the Domination Wars (995 - 1016). When the Khazarkars migrated to Cinazan, they procured driks from the djinn merchants of Gludragh. They then commenced raising the driks in Throa Sveid. The Har-Thal Chariot was once again unbound, and used to produce high driks. These high driks are employed as living siege engines by the Athirbêni.
