Energy weapons are devices that utilize energy as one of their attack mechanisms. They can manifest as energy grenades, artillery firing energy-encapsulated shells, or as a ranged weapon attachment for handheld firearms.
The two most prevalent categories of handheld energy weapons are Gith Lances and Night Howlers. The former are innovations of the Har'kish Empire and weapon crafters of the Githlarâk. Conversely, Night Howlers inflict negative energy damage, juxtaposed to the Gith Lance. These anti-life weapons are commonplace among the Pyrmidian Ghouls native to Bal-Kriav's Pyramids of Power.
In a standard hand-held weapon design, a slender tube of Ceratimus extends from the pommel to the weapon's tip. Inserted within this shaft is a Crystal Rod. The weapon's hilt features a button, knob, or twisting grip. Upon activation, a shard pierces the crystal rod, releasing the energy down the barrel. For the Night Howlers, this manifests as a bolt of inky black energy accompanied by a howling, wailing wind, while the Gith Lances emit a jagged bolt of oscillating blue-white energy.
