The ethereal remains of the Dead God traverse the firmament of Bal-Kriav via the Weird Flow. These are not mere clouds, but the petrified corpse of a fallen deity. The colossal stone fragments of the deity's body parts are immense, with the head alone spanning 5 miles from the neck to the fractured cranium. The totality of the Dead God's debris field encompasses approximately 60 square miles.
The Einglach, likely the oldest keepers of history, claim this was a noble and lawful god, an entity simply called Benevolence. Those who have explored the Clouds of the Dead God managed to decipher ancient images and writings. In summary, these writings state that the god Benevolence encountered a female angel named Kesserine. These two immortals fell in love and produced nine children. Some theologians assert that Benevolence attempted to impart his wise and virtuous ways upon his offspring, but each child marched to their own beat, pursuing different paths. Each child subsequently left the family to establish their own perspective. However, this origin theory for the Alignments is inaccurate, as the soul-gathering relics of the Dawn Era, the Wells of Life, were created centuries before the events involving Benevolence and Kesserine.
When Kesserine could no longer constrain the entropic energy within her, she reverted to her genuine form. Benevolence beheld the primordial monstrosity before him, and only then recognized the duplicity of his wife and her uncanny capacity to conceal her true nature for their centuries of matrimony. This realization also explicated the nature of their offspring, the amalgamation of Benevolence's Negative Entropy with Kesserine's chaos, resulting in children who held vastly divergent perspectives on the manner in which creatures ought to lead their lives.
Benevolence, in a fit of unrestrained fury, engaged Kesserine in battle. With each strike from her mighty, pristine sword, the sky crackled with thunderous roars. Kesserine fought feebly against such passion and wrath. After a day of combat between them and their armies, she was slain. Her essence merged with the Weave, becoming a maelstrom of chaos, the Chaos Maelstrom. The sadness and grief over the false marriage and the death of the wife he still loved was too much for Benevolence. A year to the day later, his body first froze in place, then petrified, rising up into the clouds in pursuit of his lost wife. It did not leave this world, but instead was trapped on our side of the Web, left to drift on the Weird Flow.

The Clouds of the Dead God is a vast expanse composed of numerous immense rocks, all fragments of the former body of the deity Benevolence. Certain of these formations are inhabited by airborne creatures, including cloud giants, chaos rocs, thunder worms, and sunwyrms, and are sometimes utilized as a staging ground for skyship piracy.
In the initial year of the Titan Era, mighty storm giants departed the ethereal Clouds of the Dead God, opting instead for a more permanent abode. They ultimately settled upon the isle of Ronossilya, where they constructed the prosperous settlement of Svirrurm.
In 1022, the ethereal Clouds of the Departed God were widely observed across the lower regions of Brucrumus. This celestial phenomenon manifests over Brucrumus every two to eight years, casting shadows over vast expanses. Drifting at a speed of 10 MPH and an altitude of 10,000' to 15,000', the Clouds of the Departed God rise above any mountain ranges they encounter.
