Hermir Azrik is Primordial for Azrik Volcano. In the Creation War, this volcano was created in the sector of Vetoubahr. It was forged by the primordial Kossuth as an inter-system rift linking the mortal realm Bal-Kriav with the elemental ring world Muspelheim. Kossuth was reluctant to utilize his powers to breach the Web, cognizant of the peril posed by its indefatigable guardians. Coerced by Surtur and other primordial lords, he carried out their directives. When the rift opened, it spawned a colossal volcano on Bal-Kriav and a lava sinkhole on Muspelheim. The rift between these two realms remained active for less than a month, yet in that time over 100,000 primordial soldiers had traversed it, bolstering the primordial armies of the Creation War.
Hermir Azrik succumbed when weave spiders mended the Web, thus sealing the rift. The collapse claimed the lives of thousands of soldiers in transit - "a minor price" stated Surtur "for the five armies that made it through", and much of the former volcanic region became submerged beneath the waters of Salzârrâk.
The Thrawkrall bay now occupies a significant portion of the former volcanic area. The caldera rim can be seen in certain sections of the bay and along the shoreline at Runners Leap.
