The Vortices of Khushnír are magical whirlpools situated in the Ebonmurk and Galathien Oceans. There are three such vortices in each of these bodies of water. These whirlpools serve as portals enabling travel between the surface of Galathien and the Underdark sea known as Ebonmurk. When approaching from the Galathien side, anything that enters the whirlpool will be drawn down into the Ebonmurk, while those entering from the Ebonmurk will be transported upwards to the Galathien surface. The passage through these vortices is safe for both vessels and swimmers.
The Vortices of Khushnír were created by the Fomorian conjurer Khushnír. This powerful conjurer of the Horgon Era learned how to make these marvels from tomes plundered from Phollûmâ. The Vortices of Khushnír bear a strong resemblance to other magical whirlpools like the Rath Vun and the Lokzii Ven.
The whirlpools scattered throughout Ebonmurk and Galathien possess distinct appellations, yet they are collectively referred to as the Vortices of Khushnír.
