Skilled horsemen wielding lances and sabers, they are a formidable presence on the battlefield. The Obsidian Legion is an experienced infantry corps known for its unwavering resolve and tactical acumen. Clad in ebony armor, these seasoned soldiers form the backbone of the Malacost military. The Skyfire Archers are an elite ranged unit trained in the use of advanced crossbows and siege weapons. Their expert marksmanship and coordinated fire support have turned the tide of many engagements.
Azure Burst Army
This formidable army of Malacost is outfitted with Elem-Guard armor and oscillating energy weapons. These advanced technologies were obtained by agents of the Shadow Sect and subsequently sold to Malacost. A mole embedded within Paradomea's XI Institute recovered the oscillating technology, while spies uncovered the secrets of manufacturing elem-guard from the Bloodbeards (cf. Umahanbad).

The Milithian Harpoons traverse the expansive Pearl Sea, patrolling the periphery of the central island chains within the Buccaneer Archipelago. The Phanax Dragons are tasked with safeguarding the coastlines of the Lands of Purity and the northern islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. They often engage in naval clashes with the formidable Knight Fleet.
8th Owl Brigade
The 8th Owl Brigade was established in 688. Its ranks were composed of dwarven soldiers from Bokgruma. They fought the Black Tide in the Black Tide War, spanning from 1465 to 1486, and later participated in the Athenian Crusade, which took place between 1539 and 1551. When the nation of Malacost was founded, the 8th Owl Brigade became part of its armed forces. This elite unit is an air wing with dozens of battle-hardened giant owls, ridden into combat by dwarves armed with nets, lances, crossbows, and firearms.
Slafknara Rangers
In the waning years of the Black Tide War, many sought refuge in the highlands and other rugged frontier regions. Those who fled to the Slafknara Forest formed a guerilla army, becoming known as the Slafknara Rangers. In 1506, they forged the Shields of Iraktharbhun military pact with the Voldanwen.
