This unholy structure is situated at the very heart of Phanêthil. The Basilica of Thasmudyan was constructed around the location where a mortal named Thasmudyan ascended to become the deity Thasmduyan. The nativity of a wicked divinity at this hallowed ground renders it one of the most malevolent, haunted, and sinister places across all of Bal-Kriav.
In the year 1044, Caliguworm's subordinates commenced construction on the Basilica. Approximately five decades later, on 13 Temporal 1092, the project reached completion. The subsequent day, Caliguworm was appointed as Thasmudyan's Arch-Cabal for the world Bal-Kriav.
The Basilica of Thasmudyan is an imposing structure that dominates the skyline of Necrocrypt. It has been reconstructed on multiple occasions, each time emerging larger and more grandiose. This ghastly and shadowy locale will sap the vitality from the living. Skulls and bones are seamlessly incorporated into the walls, simply pressed into the structure. The mere contact with cadavers or skeletal remains is absorbed into the Basilica, contributing to its grim, macabre ambiance.
A permanent Unhallow spell envelops the area of the Basilica of Thasmudyan. When Thasmudyan ascended to divinity, a 500-foot shallow diameter pit formed where he perished, which then filled with putrid water. The interior of the Basilica features a labyrinth of walkways constructed over the fetid pool. The entire structure of the Basilica of Thasmudyan is exceedingly frigid. This cold does not merely chill, but burns, provoking blisters and festering boils.
Two malevolent leaders amassed substantial power and mastered the darkest necromantic arts at the Basilica. Caliguworm, who resided in the Basilica of Thasmudyan, descended into madness and annihilated his own people, the Melephaeusans. Katrana also acquired her sinister abilities at this malign location and espoused the teachings of Thasmudyan to her fellow adventurers of Black Banner.
Within the Basilica lie a multitude of ominous elements. One such entity is the Cauldron of Lost Souls, a nightmarish vessel containing a deep, ebony liquid that dampens any surrounding illumination. Consuming from this cauldron will transform a creature into a lich, provided they endure the harrowing metamorphosis.
Within the expansive catacombs beneath this sinister structure lie the offices of the Pharêthôn.
