For two centuries, Jadvild served as the home of the Sig-Lorm of Hinnbjalf. In 1642, the city and valley were engulfed by the blazing fires of Mount Traeulf. The northern portion of this valley transformed into a volcanic wasteland. Still an active region, the valley frequently experiences tremors and earthquakes. The lava fields north of Hinnbjalf are susceptible to sudden explosive fissures, blasts of steam and gas, and the rise and fall of mud volcanoes spanning up to a mile in diameter.
The inhabitants of this valley are denizens of the distant world Muspelheim, fiery entities such as salamanders, fire giants, and the Fyrreid. They occasionally traverse to this realm during volcanic eruptions, finding themselves on an island amidst an unfamiliar, often chilly landscape. These denizens are largely confined to this valley and the volcano. Those who elect to depart typically head to Agulbandal, a similar yet considerably larger and more urbanized volcanic valley to the east.
