Karbêl is situated to the southeast of Sahânzar. The rugged highlands surrounding this geothermal wasteland exhibit an unusual, contorted formation. Towering, tapered spires of rock with jagged peaks dot the landscape, purportedly sculpted by the passage of the Chaos Malestrom.
In the areas above the geysers and hot pools lie the ruins of the Kriavian elves. These sites once functioned as monasteries and villas for Herfarel's elven aristocracy. Near the outset of the Second Epoch, the Khazarkar Empire arrived in this region. By then, the local inhabitants had long since migrated southward to Lambaril, fleeing the bullywug scourge of Orondir.
