Sahânzar is a fertile basin spanning two regions of Cinazan. A millennium ago, the Nermanis Sea covered this area. During the Onyx Enmity War (915 - 920), a great conflict was waged in the caverns beneath this sea. In one of the battles, a significant opening was carved in Zarag-Gûn. This cavern's ceiling, close to the seabed above, led to the draining of the Nermanis Sea. The former seafloor transformed into a vast, fertile basin. Today, the region's rich soils provide the Khazarkar Empire with an abundance of food. The basin's slopes are terraced, dotted with numerous man-made lakes, ponds, and waterfalls. Scattered across the gently descending terrain are numerous mills, situated amidst newer woodlands cultivated and maintained by the foresters and druids of the Khazarkar Empire.
Along the periphery of Sahânzar, formerly the coasts of a freshwater sea, lie the dilapidated remains of the Nermanis Syndicate.
The aperture leading to Zarag-Gûn has enlarged over the course of centuries, creating a profound canyon known as Avardâk. Rainfall and runoff from rice fields and cultivated lands cascade into this canyon. During the wet season, this produces a shallow lake extending approximately 600 feet down into the canyon. The water persists for merely several weeks before draining into the obscure realms of Faeglor.
The preeminent settlement in Sahânzar is the city of Nirzanâth. It vies with Barun-Mitân to cultivate grain and other victuals for the Khazarkar Empire. Collectively, these two cities constitute the foremost grain producers on Brucrumus. Through these two urban centers, the farmlands and fields of Sahânzar nourish the entirety of the Khazarkar Empire's populace.
The annual thaw and liquefaction of the southern regions of Ice Cap leads to the eastern sector of Sahânzar becoming submerged. This flood zone lies twenty miles east of Avardâk and extends across the basin westward to Orondir. During this Ice Cap Melt event, the Dargirth reaches its peak approximately at the commencement of Bloom.
