Kathodrarg was once the seat of Mir'piamauza ( 526 HE - 1612 HE ) , a millennium-old empire. Hailing from humble beginnings, Kathodrarg was founded by Asmodeus's Scion - a contingent of 3,000 Gradorians, all said to be the progeny of Asmodeus, or at least of Devil heritage, who were dispatched from their home world of Nessus to a distant realm known as Bal-Kriav.
From Onk'ar Decath, they will establish settlements in the fjord, assisted in locating our substantial reserves of gold and adamantine. If distributed judiciously, it will catalyze the empire, fulfilling your objectives and my own.
Mammon, Letter to Asmodeus - "Operation Mir'piamauza"
Kathodrarg is situated at the northern extremity of the vale of Skein Tus where it meets the Platinum Tooth fjord. One of the prominent figures of Asmodeus's Scion was Gira'gah, a proselytizer of Asmodeus. Her initial action was to construct a fortified temple at the edge of this settlement. Over the centuries that followed, it evolved into an imposing edifice overlooking a grand harbor, the epicenter of worship to Asmodeus for the entire continent. From its earliest origins, it was a place of plotting, intrigue, and planning, all founded on the long-term machinations of a distant master, assisting Asmodeus on his path of Ascension.
The discovery of gold and adamantine in the mountains of Hokzii Stov catalyzed the town's establishment of trade connections with the inhabitants of Tulukhan and the enigmatic giants of Gulfrek Hjard. Even now, these coveted resources continue to drive Kathodrarg's trajectory of accelerated development and profound flourishing.
In the year 526 HE, the empire of Mir'piamauza was established with Kathodrarg as its capital.
Today, millennia after the fall of Mir'piamauza, the grandeur, might, and magic of this once-great city remain evident. Its ominous black walls and towers, constructed from stone transported across three seas, stand pitted and scarred from ancient war magic, unchanged since their creation. At night, the eerie glow of Tantulhor street lamps illuminates the ruins. Many of the fountains, adorned with devilish depictions and statues, continue to function. However, the basins of some are cracked or broken, spilling their waters down the streets or into drains leading beneath the city, into the nine levels of old living and work areas, labyrinths, and tunnels.
Kathodrarg descended into ruin during the Mir'piamauza Civil War ( 1608 HE - 1612 HE ) . Plagued by devastating pestilence and malevolent spirits, by 1617 HE, the city had been completely abandoned.
