Gulfrek Hjard is a bastion from the Dawn Era, situated in the northern mist-shrouded expanse of Hokzii Stov. Constructed high within the mountains by the Thraedli, it provided sanctuary for those liberated from servitude to primordial powers, former soldiers of the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE).
In the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), the formidable giants of Gulfrek Hjard engaged in a ferocious battle against Orcus's hordes of demons. Regarded as a dark chapter in their history, they ultimately saved themselves by imparting their arcane knowledge to the demons. When Orcus's grip on the surrounding region began to waver, the eldritch giants turned on the demons, aligning themselves with the Covernant armies advancing against Ghak.
In the Lith-Crillion Era, the Thraedli leaders of Gulfrek Hjard marshaled their forces against a potent source of magic. Soaring atop giant rocs, they deployed their armies to the alluvial expanses of the Sands of Hell. In 1115 LE, they conquered the Pyramid of Life.
In the Horgon Era, Gulfrek Hjard were close allies of the Mir'piamauza Empire.
