The once gently sloping, grassy plain of Guleddab descended from the Slafknara Forest. During the Demon Spawn War, this region fell firmly under Covenant control, who used Guleddab as a cavalry training ground, supported by the nearby Iglutt. Here, the Covenant commanders Silvanus and Athena collaborated, establishing the first all-unicorn cavalry regiment, led by Athena's elite, all-female cavaliers, the True Sabers.
After the Demon Spawn War and into the Lith-Crillion Era, the region began to transform. Mt. Bophungad became an active volcano. Over the course of hundreds of eruptions spanning thousands of years, Guleddab, located southwest of the volcano, started to sink. By the Horgon Era, it had become a depression, its northern boundary marked by the towering Sharazâr escarpment. In 1102 HG, the southwestern wall of Mt. Bophungad collapsed, redirecting the volcanic devastation away from the periodic razing of Slafknara and instead turning Guleddab into a cracked, desolate wasteland.
The region of Guleddab is not entirely barren; certain areas possess fertile black soil that is utilized for agricultural purposes. However, these fertile sections are not permanent, as periodic volcanic eruptions continuously reshape the local terrain.
This arid, desolate expanse, dotted with pockets of vibrant life, continues to be graced by the presence of unicorns. They arrive for a brief period, drawn to this area as if it were a sacred pilgrimage destination.
