Guldat is a dormant volcano situated within the Borngring Wastes. Named after a heroic figure who fought alongside Surtur during the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) , Guldat is a location steeped in many legends. In the Lith-Crillion Era, following the expulsion of demons from Bal-Kriav, Guldat became the chosen abode of nearly a hundred fire giants - all former soldiers of Surtur.
Early in the Horgon Era, Guldat's giants were led by the charismatic figure of Kelksorli. A fire giant with promises to rise above, he was entrusted with a secret of Guldat that would alter the status quo across the entire wasteland. Guldat's eruption in 110 HE, which some claim marked the true Guldat's final gasp, unleashed torrents of lava. This presented the perfect opportunity for a massive offensive against the Volgads, and more importantly, to rally the fire giant tribes under Kelksorli, a mere mortal yet favored by Surtur. This conflict, known as the Lava Flood War ( 110 HE - 125 HE ) , saw the fire giants under Kelksorli drive the Volgad from their ancestral homes.
The 110 HE eruption of Guldat was anything but ordinary. It flowed relentlessly, persisting until the collapse of Imrik. Any objective inquiry will reveal that Surtur orchestrated this volcanic event.

In the year 125 HE, the same period that Imrik succumbed to the giants, Guldat ceased its activity, never erupting again.
