Khimrathil is a valley situated in the southwestern corner of Izagunbar. Following the collapse of Tinnanguth in the aftermath of the 817 Dao Insurrection, thousands of Sussgurd refugees resettled within this verdant locale.

In 1799, having employed a workforce of Sussgurd slaves and skeletal minions, the Wraith-Queen Belgunth cleared the deep thickets and vines that had long concealed the Pyramid of Anti-Nature.

Khimrathil and the Pyramid are asserted as the dominion of the city-state Sakullêth.

The Wither-Blight Initiative

While the valley is known for its Sussgurd refugees and the recovery of the Pyramid, its current strategic value lies in the Wither-Blight Lab located within the Pyramid's catacombs.

  • Environmental Siege: The Blighters stationed here are testing toxins designed to neutralize the "primordial infusions" of Zendanul, which some believe caused the Sussgurd de-evolution.
  • Tactical Testing Ground: The "verdant locale" of Khimrathil serves as a controlled environment for testing aerosol deployment of the blight against local thickets and vines.
  • Resource Extraction: The lab utilizes living and undead test subjects for the toxin's efficacy on nature-touched biology.
  • Defensive Buffer: By establishing this lab in the southwestern corner of Izagunbar, Sakullêth ensures that any "hyper-growth" from the Zendanul jungle can be withered before it reaches the Backbone's highland forest; one of Sakullêth's most prized exports - Blight-Kilned Timber.

An area of ongoing research and military interest, and of great economic importance to Sakullêth, what follows is the current operational plan for the Wither-Blight Initiative:

Khimrathil Deployment Plan: Operation Pale Canopy

With the Mêzel-Blight formula stabilized in the Pyramid's catacombs, the Blighters have outlined a targeted strike to expand the city-state's influence.

  • Primary Objective: To permanently wither the hyper-growth corridors connecting Zendanul to the Elephant Backbone, securing the highland forests for exclusive Sakullêth logging.
  • Aerosol Saturation: Utilizing the Overgrowth Perimeter as a launch point, skeletal minions will deploy pressurized "Blight-Canisters" during the seasonal mist-rolls of the Khimrathil valley.
  • Sussgurd Vanguard: A battalion of Sussgurd refugees—inoculated with a temporary, painful "Wither-Resistant" salve—will move into the newly decaying zones to harvest the highland forest timber before the wood's integrity is compromised by the toxin.
  • Biological Nullification: Any Sussgurd or Zendanul resistance encountered will be subjected to direct Resource Extraction protocols to further refine the blight's efficacy against nature-touched beings.
The Green-Fury Resistance

Opposing the industrial encroachment of Sakullêth is a disparate but determined alliance led by the Sprite Druid Thistle-Sting and the Sussgurd refugee leader Brak-Zul. Their guerrilla campaign utilizes the valley's dense terrain to disrupt Operation Pale Canopy.

  • Thorn-Ambush Tactics: Thistle-Sting employs rapid-growth magic to ensnare Blighter patrols in sudden thickets of iron-hard thorns, neutralizing their chemical sprayers before they can be deployed.
  • Supply Line Sabotage: Brak-Zul's Sussgurd raiders target the supply caravans transporting "Blight-Canisters" from the Pyramid. Using their immense strength, they topple transport wagons and smash containment vessels, rendering the toxins useless in the mud.
  • Mist-Cloaked Raids: Leveraging the very mists the Blighters use for aerosol distribution, the resistance strikes silently, disappearing back into the Zendanul overgrowth before reinforcements can arrive.
Notable Areas
  • Pyramid of Anti-Nature: Now housing the primary research vats for the Mêzel-Blight formula.
  • The Overgrowth Perimeter: A designated "kill-zone" where the Wither-Blight is regularly released to keep the valley's deep thickets from reclaiming the site.
