The historic city of Kul-Citti was established by the industrious Tragaran people, emerging from the bustling settlement of Sourm-Gar. Situated on an island off the northern shores of the Gulimbor region, the area was discovered by local fishermen to be abundant in natural resources. As a result, a thriving deep-water port was constructed to accommodate the burgeoning maritime trade.
In 350, the Cal-Thaoun Dynasty was established. Kul-Citti transitioned from an independent city-state to an imperial holding, an annexation that occurred without resistance. The Kul-Cittins welcomed the prospect of having their defense, upkeep, and protection from pirates originating in Ing-Serold financed by another entity. Their gravest concern was the threat posed by the expansionist Khazarkar Empire, which was aggressively seizing land in the Imrabêl Valley.
The Gulimbor Cataclysm devastated the city, which was ravaged by a surge of magical energy that caused the surrounding seas to roil and boil. Additionally, the temperature in the region spiked, leading to the desertification of the island. Akin to countless others impacted by the magical cataclysm or Khazarkar aggression, the inhabitants of Kul-Citti were compelled to abandon their city and the island.
Today, the more perilous entities one may encounter within this dilapidated structure are dust wights. These unsettling creatures came into existence when mages endeavored to conjure water elementals as a means of procuring potable water. Potentially stemming from the arcane corruption induced by the cataclysm, when these elementals were vanquished, they did not yield refreshing pools but rather transformed into malevolent creatures fueled by negative energy.
