Sarzan'nâth is a solitary mountain that rises from the depths of Nureum. Along the slopes and within this mountain lies a Lith-Crillion fortress known as Mirundân. This ancient, long-abandoned fortress spews water from several channels, creating magnificent cascades into the surrounding lake. The lush, verdant woodlands of Mavraphas are said to begin at Mirundân. An aura of ancient nature magic permeates the slopes of Sarzan'nâth, which is so potent that weaker-minded beings have been permanently transformed, becoming either half-feys or woodlings - entities that have bonded with nature and possess a mindset akin to that of a treant.
This alteration renders them more feral and inclined toward the natural world, engendering a yearning to flee the confines of civilization.
Aehin-Mor, of Cheldremn - "Mirundân Effect"
The writings uncovered within the fortress suggest that the mountain was once encircled by an expansive desert basin. Presently, the desert has vanished, replaced by a sizable lake and a thriving forest. The druid Aehin-Mor of Cheldremn asserts that his examination of the region led him to conclude that the Lith-Crillion inhabitants utilized the same nature-enhancing magic discovered in the Pyramid of Nature.
In the Third Epoch, the druid Eclipse ventured into Mirundân and utilized one of its ancient forges to craft the Briar of Mirundân, an augmented staff of the woodlands. This was the first item made at the forge since the Lith-Crillion Era. Following the news of the magical forge in the location, other druids have sought it out, with many meeting their demise. The guardians of the place are purportedly a capricious lot, often imposing demanding terms for those wishing to enter. One group claims that a pixie prince stated that passage would require a leaf from each of the forests of Midrêth.
The rain of Pixie darts that descended upon us when we were less than eager to undertake this quest soon induced deep slumber in half of our group, prompting the rest of us to seek cover hastily. While the pixies proved an annoyance, the pursuit by the centaurs was far more perilous, with fatigue ultimately emerging as the true adversary. The centaur arrows, launched from their formidable double-strung bows, whistled through the air, while the heavily armored members of our party, likened to tin cans, were repeatedly jabbed and stabbed by the two-headed lances, all the while being peppered with pixie arrows as the surrounding forest seemingly came alive against us, the unwelcome trespassers.
Only two managed to escape, while the rest perished or were taken captive. Regrettably, I became one of the captives, succumbing to a deadly blood poison. The pixies dwelling in the mountain forests of Sarzan'nâth are well aware that groups arrive prepared to combat the denizens of nature, and thus they, alongside other forest inhabitants, employ a variety of devices, toxins, and tactics to counter these trespassers. I was seized and subsequently instructed in the ways of their woodland realm and the tenets of Silvanus.
Anallôni, a druid accompanying Gimar's Rangers, remarked, "Trespassers of Mirundân"
The energy emanating from Mirundân renders the island mountain a Focus for Nature. Druids and casters of nature-oriented magic will discover their spells to be more potent (+4 DC and treated as under the Empower Spell feat). Additionally, druids recover spells after only a quarter of the usual rest period.
