Map Nithlurik

Satheon is a shrouded, profound inlet of northern Gathrot. Flanked eastward and westward by towering, rugged cliffs, the bay's southern extremity is the desolate expanse of Hakân.

In the Third Epoch, Dax and a host of enslaved magmin redirected Groarnfer's advance northward towards the volcano of Gruggvein, preserving the untouched southern shores of Satheon from being engulfed by molten rock.

In the depths of Satheon Bay lie the ruins of the Durkoth who mutated and descended into the seas. Some of those who joined the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE) arrived here first before descending into the deeper waters of Zen'nêlkhush. These ruins hold relics of the Durkoth who abandoned Abâthigûr. One of the tomes plundered from this site by Dax, or those working for him, allowed him to summon the magmin employed in the Groarnfer Plan.

At the entrance of the bay stand two colossal statues, one a towering 110-foot hyena with worms spilling from its eye sockets and its intestines cascading down the face of the cliff like great tentacles. Across the bay, ten miles distant, rises a massive 90-foot statue of a vulture. Clutched in the vulture's beak are dozens of rotting corpses, all part of the imposing sculpture. These statues represent the heralds of Thasmudyan, the patron deity of the Black Tide.

If not for these repulsive statues, Satheon would be the most exquisite bay across the entirety of the Isles of Mourning.

Captain Zhut, commander of the vessel Pandimírë, recorded the following entry in his logbook - "The Isles of Necrocrypt"

Also, in the depths of the Satheon sea lie the wreckage of a vast armada. Approximately 150 vessels and innumerable skeletal remains rest beneath the waves, the majority consigned to a watery demise during the Battle of Satheon. Following this conflict, the region became a haunt for moaning spirits and ghostly sailors. These undead entities have driven off or slain most of the harpies that once inhabited the bay.

The sunken hulks and the dead of Satheon have not all been granted eternal rest. In times past, particularly during the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), some of the ships rose to the surface and became part of a death fleet that terrorized the seas under the Black Tide. A select few even had the distinction, if one can call it that, of serving the Armada of the Damned.
