The Golden Vein of Golruwyrm is a significant gold deposit that begins along the western cliffs of Diiv Prok. In this area, near the surface, all the accessible gold has been mined. However, further into the mine, a more substantial gold seam is found, stretching across three distinct regions: Imgangreth, Miryeril, and culminating in Faeglor, where it concludes at Zarag-Gûn. While the main vein has been extensively mined in numerous locations, substantial untapped reserves still exist, often situated in remote or politically contested areas.
The legends recount that the Tail of Golruwyrm originated when the mighty dragon Golruwyrm met its demise at Stafknir Hrerbjof - now recognized as the Sands of Hell. One account suggests the gold vein was her vast treasure trove, forged together in her fiery downfall.
One of the fortified settlements constructed along the Tail of Golruwyrm and mined by its people is Sigatharkin. This citadel was established by the Mîmêk to safeguard the advancing mines exploiting this fabled and bountiful ore vein. This gold seam proved exceptionally lucrative, allowing the Mîmêk to tap it for a millennium, leaving in their wake a string of settlements and strongholds. They followed it intermittently from Diiv Prok all the way into Zarag-Gûn where the seam finally terminates.
In the Chaexidor region, there exists an area of intense heat where the gold flows freely like liquid. This location is known as the Molten Pools of Golruwyrm. It is the domain of the salamanders, who aggressively defend their golden hoard against any who dare approach.
