The Sprocket was a sprawling road network constructed by the Mir'piamauza Empire over the course of five centuries, spanning from 526 HE to 1612 HE. This ambitious infrastructure project connected the empire's major strongholds, from the northern ally of Gulfrek Hjard, to the western fjords of Kathodrarg, all the way to the tropical coasts of Tyk-Culten. The network's origins lay in the need to access the lucrative Demon Boot mines, rich in adamantine and gold. The remoteness of these mining sites necessitated the construction of numerous bridges, tunnels, and outposts to facilitate the transport of the empire's precious resources.
After the Mir'piamauza Civil War (1608 HE - 1612 HE), the road was left to whoever could preserve and govern it. Presently, certain segments are supervised by unwelcoming parties, toll collectors, or obstructed by disrepair. In the vicinity of The Sprocket's prominent strongholds, roads and trails are preserved and frequently patrolled.
