The fortress of Thur Gilc was constructed by the Krotoan military unit serving under the Covenant general Lukoon. Erected to monitor and counter any demonic forces encroaching upon the world of Bal-Kriav along the Tha'lith Front, it served as the operational hub for the war against the demon legions of Graz'zt.
The rugged area of Thur Gilc became the home of the Tragaran people after the demons were driven out. Even at the height of the first Tragaran nation state, Tilnangau, which spanned from 446 LE to 2615 LE, Thur Gilc remained a small town in size.
The demon empire of Varelay rose to prominence, and Thur Gilc emerged as a vital strategic stronghold, safeguarding the crucial trade and supply routes connecting the coastlines to the Tilnangau capital of Rolipoon.
In the year 912 LE, the captive, Thur Gilc, was incorporated into the domains of Varelay.
