In the Dawn Era, the Dulun, more formally known as the Dulun-Khâl, were brought into existence by Danzar-Khâl, an Arch-Creationist charged with the creation of worlds and all that they contain. Though diminutive in size, he fashioned the Dulun in his own image, the inaugural dwarves of the Dawn Era.
The Dulun civilization originated on the world of Ilabizdum. During the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), several hundred thousand Dulun were dispatched to Bal-Kriav to battle the primordials, their giants, and a sea of entropic minions. The descendants of the Dulun who remained on Bal-Kriav are known as the Turkûn.
The gravitational mass of Ilabizdum endows Dulun with greater body mass, nearly 25% more, and enhanced strength compared to the average Turkûn inhabitant of Bal-Kriav. Dulun's skin possesses a metallic hue, and their pupils gleam with a chrome-like radiance.
The Dulun raise specialized creatures from birth called thaalud. On Ilabizdum, these creatures serve as guardians for sacred sites dedicated to Ptah, and as protectors of Ptah's priests. Sages refer to them as "Tomb Tappers" for their extraordinary talent in locating and exhuming hidden treasure troves. Centuries ago, the dwarves enslaved these creatures, employing them as arduous laborers, elite guards, and various other roles. After generations of living under the Dulun, the thaalud now know no other purpose than to serve their dwarven overlords.
