The Nitthirân are djinn who fled to Bal-Kriav during the Lith-Crillion Era. These beings are descendants of slaves who once labored under the efreet overlords of the magnificent City of Brass. The Nitthirân's escape was facilitated by an unknown Higher Power; even they are unaware of the name of their savior. As a result of this liberation, they lost the ability to traverse the celestial planes, becoming trapped on their new homeworld. Successive generations, born into the mortal realm, have themselves become mortal and immune to the magic that summons their kind.
On Bal-Kriav, Nitthirân are concentrated in the scorching deserts of Gludragh. They initiated commercial exchanges with others following the relocation of the Khazarkar Empire to the Cinazan Region. During the Kiihus Vaaril War, the Nitthirân forged an alliance with the Khazarkars. Subsequent to this conflict, some remained with their former employers, with a few ascending to prominent positions within the Pharzîmrâth government.
Across the sprawling realm of Gludragh loom colossal citadels, floating serenely over the desolate expanses below. Borne aloft upon earth motes, these magnificent structures are granted aerial mobility through a synthesis of air motes and arcane sorcery.
