The southeastern coastlines of the region of Dulpathâra on the continent of Denerra frequently confront towering walls of water. These tidal surges are not ordinary occurrences, but rather a result of magical pulses emanating from the Cube of Arcane. Fortunately for those on the opposite side of the Embrasures, the coastal mountains encircling Denerra, the tidal forces are disrupted by the mountains. This generates a constant booming along the shores, echoing out into two peculiar seas.
The eastern coasts of Denerra gaze upon the frigid Nautrek Sea, while to the west and south lies the treacherous Forbidden Sea. The Forbidden Sea experiences the powerful shock waves and reverberations of the towering tidal waves crashing against Dulpathâra, rendering this sea exceedingly turbulent for hundreds of miles east of the Cube of Arcane. Due to the perilous nature of these waters, this region remained unexplored until the advent of skyships. However, the area boasts a rich history dating back to the Dawn Era.
Scattered throughout this region are immense structures, colossal mountain doors sealing passages, towering monoliths, and other peculiarities. During the Creation War, the angels and the gods constructed these places to contain primordials and some of their more troublesome minions. Certain of these creatures possessed remarkable regenerative abilities, like the primordial Tydal, making it more practical to imprison them than to destroy them. These Dulpathâra prisons are angel and god-built locations laden with powerful traps, magical forces, creatures, mazes, and other hazards. Time and the elements have worn down some of these places, leading to cracks in their foundations or openings beneath doors and to other entrances into areas clearly built to keep something confined. The small openings into these prisons are too narrow to allow the terrors within to escape, but they have permitted some to enter and free a primordial or other menace. One such creature unleashed was Silfergath. This primordial slew those who sought to liberate it and ultimately imprisoned itself when it entered Nautrek.
Dulpathâra, as well as other regions of Denerra, are monitored by those stationed in the Sentinels of Denerra. The most renowned of these is Gortun's Rock. This location serves as a frequent initial destination for those embarking on the journey into the lands of the Prison Continent.
