Tydal

Category primordials
Type water elemental behemoth

In the Creation War, the 16 th Legion of Ares ventured to the world Marragh to capture Tydal. On this world, she was tearing apart the surface by constructing deep chasms and rifts. This rendered the landscape she left behind a challenging environment for those without the ability to fly. Seers of primordial learning theorize that Tydal was carrying out this destruction to make Marragh uninhabitable, ultimately seeking to return the creations of the gods back to Chaos, as many primordials seemed driven to do.

In the dawn of time, the realms were freshly formed or still taking shape by divine hands. The primordial forces sought to dismantle this order and return all to the embrace of Chaos.

Thraedli history

In the battle to seize Tydal, she was thrice impaled by the Lance of Suffering. This celestial weapon inflicted perpetual wounds upon those of chaotic nature, causing them to either perish from hemorrhaging or, in Tydal's case, to be drained of her aqueous form. This draining weakened her to such a degree that she was apprehended by General Karn and his 16 th Legion of Ares. Tydal did not succumb to her injuries due to her exceptional regenerative capabilities, which were (and remain) sufficient to sustain her life, though rendering her immobile and incapacitated.

General Karn asked his commander, the archangel Ares, what he should do with Tydal now that they had her. Ares instructed his General to use the Lance of Suffering a few more times on her, and then allow her to dissipate in the rays of Merioss. However, before carrying out Ares's order, General Karn decided to contact Bal-Kriav, the Supreme General of the Nawirrûs Covenant. Bal-Kriav told Karn to ignore Ares's directives and instead bring Tydal back to Bal-Kriav and take her to Dulpathâra. Ares was displeased with this decision, but since an order from his superior officer superseded his own, he could only brood and warn Bal-Kriav that the imprisoned primordials may one day break free or involve mortals in their machinations. Bal-Kriav responded that they must show compassion to those deserving of it, and that some merely follow orders or were created to bring chaos to the order they have forged from Chaos.

Runes above the entrance to Tydals Safe

Tydal is imprisoned within the secure confines of Tydal's Safe. Her massive form lies sprawled across the vast expanse of Karn's Table. Owing to the perpetual loss of fluids from her wounds, her body has become honeycombed with open spaces. Over the millennia since her incarceration, her body, now a labyrinthine structure, has served as the lair for numerous creatures. She finds amusement in allowing these entities to enter her eerie domain, only taking action against those that have grown tiresome to her. When this occurs, Water Archon defenders emerge from the walls, descending upon those who would dare to offend their mistress.
