Gortun's Rock was constructed during the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) . It served as one of eleven security checkpoints for entities imprisoned across Denerra, the Prison Continent. Atlas and Arcana, acting on behalf of the Nawirrûs Covenant, oversaw its development. Beneath Gortun's Rock lies the Tomb of Gortun, the resting place of Arcana and Atlas's son.

The sentinels stationed at Gortun's Rock are tasked with monitoring the lands of Denerra for any fugitives, as well as maintaining the numerous time-worn prisons across the region.
