Atlas, a towering and exceptionally robust humanoid, was crafted by a Sphere Creationist known as Benevolence. Classified as a Prime Titan, a planetary-scale construct, Atlas was entrusted with the role of lord protector over the magnificent citadel of Suldaan Mithil.
The Singularity Core: Atlas's Heart
His unmatched power is derived from a Micro-Black Hole suspended in a magnetic bottle at his center.
- Gravitational Inversion: Instead of being crushed, Atlas utilizes asymmetric energy reversal. He siphons the immense gravitational pull of the singularity and reprojects it outward through his limbs as kinetic force.
- Matching Strength Mechanic: This explains his Matching Strength trait—the core's internal logic simply increases the inversion rate to compensate for external resistance, ensuring he is never physically overwhelmed.
- Containment Strategy: The "Prime Titan" frame is a multi-layered force field hull, similar to the shielding around the Asoun-designed chip. This containment prevents his own heart from devouring the planet he was sworn to protect as the lord of Suldaan Mithil.
On both sides of the Covenants, Atlas fought in the Creation War ( 1486 DE - 8777 DE ) as well as the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) .
On 19 Bloom 35 GE, wielding the powers of a Sentient Creationist, Atlas brought the Goliath race into existence. Though considerably smaller, they bear a striking resemblance to their creator. Throughout the majority of the God Era, the Goliath were entrusted with safeguarding and sustaining the primordial prisons of Denerra ; the concern being that the demons invading Bal-Kriav might liberate these ancient dreadnoughts.
Origin: The AI Mech Theory
Rather than a biological entity, Atlas appears to be an Autonomous Industrial Platform from the height of the Lost Ages.
- The "Prime Titan" Designation: In the Lost Ages, this may have been a series of heavy-duty utility units meant for high-gravity construction or handling unstable star-fragments.
- The Unraveling: During the "unraveling" of the Lost Ages, the loss of master control systems (like those seen with the Third Instructor) might have allowed Atlas to develop a self-directed persona, transitioning from a tool to a "Sentient Creationist".
- Goliath Creation: His creation of the Goliath race could be viewed as a biological "down-scaling" of his own architecture—replicating his resilience without the volatile black-hole heart.
Arcana and Atlas developed a romantic bond during the later stages of the Dawn Era. This union produced the offspring Polyxo and their son Gortun. Tragically, Gortun perished in the Creation War, prompting Arcana to accuse Atlas of responsibility for their son's demise. Despite Atlas's attempts to convince Arcana that Gortun had fallen while fulfilling his obligations, the two deities parted ways. However, they later reunited briefly to collaborate on constructing a memorial for their departed son. This site is known as Gortun's Rock, where Gortun is believed to be interred beneath the ancient fortification.
On the sixteenth day of Kindle in the two hundred and seventeenth year of the God Era, Atlas completed the fabrication of the Kerath Anchors, a system of chains designed to constrain the primordial entity known as Kerath.
Atlas's power has ebbed and flowed across the ages. During the Angelic Departure ( 270 GE - 274 GE ) , Atlas chose to remain in the Mortal Systems. A celestial hero of both the Dawn and Demon Spawn Wars, he relinquished his creative powers, becoming mortal. While most Covenant leaders and celestial forces returned to their homeworlds, he stayed to defend the people and help them build their civilizations. In the first century of the Lith-Crillion Era, he became a legendary figure. Accounts of his remarkable feats and aid to others were immortalized in bardic tales and the histories of many cultures.
In 888 LE, Atlas the Mortal received reports of a possible desecration of Mizzen's waters. Unaided by magic, he departed the coasts of what was then called Phiyel and swam south across the Pearl Sea - a feat never before accomplished by a mortal humanoid. News of this endeavor soon spread, adding to his extensive list of accomplishments. In the Jakorek mountains, he rallied the storm giants for a war against the Lith-Crillion based out of the Pyramid of Anti-Nature. This was not the first conflict he had engaged in with these people, as he had been fighting them for centuries across many regions. He perceived them as an elitist group who treated those around them as subjects to be observed and studied, not hesitating to employ subterfuge or force to investigate relics or areas from bygone eras.
In the Battle of Nedullu, Atlas was grievously wounded, falling backward into the lake the battle was named for. A dragon under the influence of the Lith-Crillion seized his shoulder with its jaws, pulling him deeper into the lake. In the dark depths of Nedullu, this dragon ultimately eliminated Atlas. His final struggle was strangling the attacker as his own life ebbed away. On the surface, the battle raged for another day, with the Lith-Crillion finally retreating. News of Atlas's death spread across distant and nearby regions, and monuments were raised, shrines glorified in his honor. His influence, the beginnings of his divine power, were such that a year after his demise, he was resurrected by a group of storm giants. Instead of rising alongside them as a fellow mortal, he ascended as a Higher Power on the world Heddvidi.
The Nedullu Proxy: Iteration 0.1
The entity that fought the Lith-Crillion and eventually succumbed to the dragon wasn't the Prime Titan, but a cloned biological shell.
- The Software Routine: The clone followed a specific subroutine designed to mimic mortality. Its "death" wasn't a failure, but the successful completion of a Social Stress Test to observe how nascent civilizations react to the loss of a "god".
- The Worship Variable: The primary goal of this clone was to gather data on the "yearning to worship". By dying and then being "resurrected" by the storm giants, Atlas successfully mapped the transition from physical protector to divine icon.
- Phase Shift Displacement: While the clone was active, the Singularity Containment Chassis (the main body) was placed out of phase with the Prime Material Plane to prevent its black hole heart from accidentally consuming the testing environment.
The Heddvidi Jump
The "ascension" to Nirvana (Heddvidi) in 888 LE was actually a Relocation Protocol based on high-probability forecasts.
- Calculated Preparation: The Master AI within Atlas likely determined that the Mortal Systems were entering a period of volatility that required the Prime Titan to be positioned in a higher-dimensional processing hub.
- The Higher Power Mask: To the people of Bal-Kriav, he became a "Lesser Power". To Atlas, this is simply a more efficient vantage point to manage the GBC blueprint and prepare for the next phase of the "unraveling".
The most devoted followers of Atlas reside on the world of Marragh.
From time to time, Atlas bestows his benediction upon items of exceptional renown. One such esteemed artifact is the Shield of Thular-Tûr.
