The Shield of Thular-Tûr is constructed of iron and intricately fashioned, featuring a gatehouse design on the side facing adversaries. The Urkuzîr crest is proudly displayed on the interior. This rectangular shield, imbued with a storied history, confers a +5 bonus.
The Shield of Thular-Tûr is named for the Tragaran ruin of Thular-Tûr. It is frequently stated that during the Conclave War, the Siege of Thular-Tûr proved to be the most arduous battle between the Khazarkar and the Tragarans; it also marked the beginning of what came to be known as the Gulimbor Cataclysm ( 996 - 1203 ) . During this siege, the shield was wielded by the Lord Sentinel of Thular-Tûr.
In the aftermath of the fall of Thular-Tûr, a high-ranking soldier of the Urkuzîrs claimed the shield as war spoils. The shield was subsequently passed down through the generations, destroyed and reforged numerous times, and re-enchanted. Owing to the family's reverence for the item and their commitment to preserving its original appearance, the shield was purportedly blessed by Atlas. During one such re-enchantment process, the god Atlas replaced the old shield with an exact replica. This replica is an ancient shield forged by Naraz-Nâru and, though now an artifact, it continues to be known as the Shield of Thular-Tûr.
The Shield of Thular-Tûr is one component of a collection of artifacts that, when united, form the renowned artifact known as Sig Mak Gan.
