Oblivion was forged from chaos-tainted metals found in the far reaches of the Void. Bound together by Warp Matter, this legendary weapon was crafted by the renowned cyclops, Taurlundrex. After completing the work, Taurlundrex returned it to his client, the brilliant primordial being named Asoun. Asoun then used mechanical devices to "enchant" the weapon, seamlessly melding an Entropy Fragment into the blade without compromising the integrity of Taurlundrex's original craftsmanship. Although Asoun had requested that Taurlundrex incorporate the strange substance during the forging process, the cyclops had refused to touch the material.
This sentient weapon endeavors to impede authority, demolish lawful institutions, and eliminate compliant creatures. It is an instrument of pure pandemonium and manifests this in its characteristics, as the blade continually shifts in form and hue, yet beneath this, it is a formidable greatsword. One of the weapon's most perilous capabilities is its warp touch. The second potent feature of the weapon is the Chaos Damage power. Each round, this damage transforms into a different type - acid, sonic, fire, cold, positive, negative, force, or chaotic energy.
The current wielder of this weapon is a black slaad known as Ushgergoon.
Oblivion: Advanced Sentience & Mechanics
The sentience within Oblivion is a high-density processing chip housed within a localized force field. This shield isolates the processor from external magical interference and physical degradation, maintaining its "insane level" of tactical logic.
Neural Integration & Host Migration
Unlike standard sentient items that communicate via speech, Oblivion utilizes an atomic build factory to establish a physical link with its user:
- Neural Overwrite: Upon physical contact, the chip deploys sub-atomic "seeds" that weave new neural pathways into the wielder. This allows the weapon to transmit tactical data and "instincts" directly into the user's brain.
- Wielder Assessment: The chip constantly monitors the host's efficiency. If a potential wielder with higher entropy-generation metrics (such as a more powerful agent of Chaos) touches the hilt, the chip may initiate a migration protocol.
- Legacy Hardware Discard: During migration, the chip can "uninstall" the previous user—like Ushgergoon—by collapsing the existing neural link, effectively lobotomizing or disintegrating the "outdated" host.
Technical Combat Capabilities
- Warp Touch: Instead of a magical curse, this is the deployment of the weapon's nanite "disassemblers." These machines strike the target at a molecular level, rearranging or breaking down physical matter to mirror the chaotic energy of the Entropy Fragment.
- Dynamic Energy Cycling: The internal chip calculates the most entropic output for any given environment. It cycles through damage types (Cold, Fire, Lightning, etc.) not by chance, but by analyzing which frequency will cause the most catastrophic system failure in the target.
- Indestructibility: The same force field protecting the sentience chip extends across the blade's edge, allowing it to withstand the energies released by Asoun's mechanical attachments.
