The Botaff tribe, tainted with demon blood, were fire giants who allied with the demons against the gods during the Demon Spawn War. As Kodgroar 's downfall became imminent, the demon lord Baphomet conceived a plan to plant demon seeds in the wives and mates of the fallen male fire giants. A dozen or so incubus, acting under Baphomet 's orders, infiltrated the homes of their fire giant lovers, disguising themselves to sire a future generation of demon-blooded giants.
The Botaff are unquestionably the most malicious, ruthless, and cunning fire giants of Borngring. Those dwelling in the ruins of Imrik answer to a formidable dracolich named Sahqon Lok Maar, who in turn answers to Skytoth Sorenass, the ruler of Xornsnous.
