In the Dawn Era, Silvanus and Corellon, both Creationists, frequently competed to create the finest fey. On the world Kriav, this competition escalated, with Corellon striving to outshine Silvanus, expending all his powers of Creation in a grand experiment. He sought to craft a hybrid creature blending nature and arcane energy, linking with Kriav's battery of magical power. This caused the world's Cube of Arcane to deteriorate, finally collapsing in upon itself. In 1301 DE, this Cube Collapse unleashed its magic across Kriav. The result was a realm where nature and arcane energy intertwine within many lifeforms, where sylvan creatures roam freely, and even a common stag may possess the ability to cast arcane spells.
In the Tirion System, one will not encounter mere boars, cattle, or creatures less imposing than a dire beast. The beasts of Tirion are generally more perilous, as is the majority of its environment. Furthermore, magic is more ubiquitous and potent within this realm.
Neetchian scholars contend that Tirion and its realms represent a flawed endeavor initiated by two envious deities of the natural world. Their transgressions culminated in the Cube Collapse, a catastrophic implosion of a world's Cube of Arcane that not only inundated the realm with magic, but destabilized the entire surrounding system.
The Kriavfahliil, or Kriavian Elves, were profoundly impacted by the Cube Collapse. According to ancient texts from Gwildath, their unique ability to rift hop emerged only after this cataclysmic event.
